NCC Learning for Life

NCC was part of my life for 3 years from 2013-16. It gave me good exposure, built leadership trait, sense of belongingness and overall good memories to cherish forever. Penning down few of the teachings learnt from my 3 years of NCC. These point are not for mere sharing to readers but also to remind myself these from time to time. Happy Reading !

1. After coming back from All India Thal Sainik Camp 2014, I had read these lines somewhere "कामयाबी को दिमाग मे और नाकामयबी को दिल मे कभी जगह मत दो । कामयाबी दिमाग मे जाये तो अहन्कार पैदा करती है और नाकामयाबी दिल मे जाये तो आगे बधने नही देती ।" To translate- "Never let success gets in your mind and failure to your heart. When success gets in mind it results in vanity while failure taken to heart never lets you progress." And I always tried to implement this thought in my life.

2. At starting of TSC camp during Obstacle(OT) course, I used to get fear of few obstacles in performing OT Event. Then a sir told me "target ko chhota aur dil ko bada banao" (Make you heart/will power biggar than your target); And yes, it worked. From then I felt like those obstacles are saying to me "come and cross us. We are there for you to overcome us and not to let you down". The OT course applies to all the obstacles that comes in different form in life. Just to lift us up and make us better than before.

3. A correct training and knowledge fetched in the beginning builds the base. And wherever you get chance of gaining knowledge, go ahead without any shame, hesitation or fear. #Sarojbala ma'am (before IUC)  and Lokesh Saxena sir( when he was guiding 2 cadets for SSB Interview).

4. You should not beg for or expect respect just because you are at some post or status. Respect is something which comes from within. You have to earn it by possessing few of traits. And when it comes from within, you can feel the affection.

5. Learnt this from others life. Don't get involved in training someone or any team by yourself until you haven't been called to. Used to listen a story in childhood about Lord Shiva refusing to go and asking his wife Sati too to not go at the grand worship kept by her father Daksha without invitation. I saw it in realty. You ll loose your self respect.

6. You never gain knowledge if you don't pass it to others. Your achievements gets real meaning when you make a few more like you and keep the cycle of knowledge flowing. And when your students do well, the joy felt is more than what you had felt during your achievement.

7. Ego and desire to get importance actually deteriorates you. I saw one person whom I used to admire a lot, had fallen from one's own level. Could have gained prestige. Although gained also but fake one.  What's the meaning of that fake respect that people show you from front!

8. Be a good trainer, but don't take the credit.  Credit will come to you. You can share the credit but cannot own it. When you take the credit, the feeling of arrogance can be seen which actually dominate your hard work put in to train them.

9. Opportunities come in bulk. Wait for the right one, grab it and make full use of it.

10. Just give back to the people or team from where you had gained something. This is the way to can do your part towards building your nation. Also good things come back to you. "नेकी कर दरिया मे दालना सीखो, कि तुफान मे वही नेकिया कश्ती बन पार उतारेगी" Translate- Do good and let it flow in river. When storm comes, these good deeds will take you to shore !!

Cheers to such life experiences and learning!
